A better me?

A friend commented that i have become a better person since i joined the newspaper in the beginning of this year. According to him, nowadays, i sounded "so wise, so rationale, so clear-minded and so happy-jolly-lucky-licky-girly" .. apart from the last description, which i have no idea what he meant, i was rather pleased to hear his feedback :-)

I remembered a conversation that i had with a former senior of mine from uni last month. We were talking about growing up and how we have changed. He said growth could be measured by who we are before and who we are after. how much we have changed in the process would mean how much we have grown from that experience. He said it should be based on relationships; not on how many mountains i've climbed or how many rivers i've crossed. His thoughts lingered in my mind until now.

My friend's comment today reaffirms the person i am and that i have changed for the better. My job is one of the catalysts of change as i have not been this happy and satisfied at a job until now. Also it's a bonus that i click so well with my fellow colleagues. Other than that, i must say that this year to date has been challenging in terms of relationships.

I had to deal with several conflicts, be it BGR or even family and friends. i went through short period of depression, heart-brokenness, hurt and pain. i forgave and let go of some people in my life, and i stood by my principles, to be who i am and who i wanted to be. In my weakness and deepest moments, i found strength in my God. tho i don't think i have totally overcome my hurdle to be a better Christian, one thing for sure is i couldn't deny my faith.

I guess to a certain extend, i am comfortable with the person i am now and i know where i would like to head to. but apart from this, there are many in betweens that i haven't figure it out.

I guess when one realise that life is a temporary route until eternity, one would see that rigidness is really not that necessary.

Like King Solomon said, Life is meaningless ..There is nothing new under the sun."

Yet in the same book, he said There is a season for everything under the sun, a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to heal; a time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance ... (Ecc 3)

For now, my time is to know myself.
