Brand new look

(pix taken on July 1, at Timothy's wedding)
To commemorate the end of the first half of 2006, I decided to change the outlook of my blog. So from this day forward, it will be a different layout. I'm still trying to figure out how to customise the settings. Since i am clueless when it comes to computer language, it'll probably take me some time to figure this out (not to mention tat my procrastinative self wld also play a part..).

I hope the new layout is easier for reading as i realised the previous one was a bit clouded, or maybe, too artistic for my nature. didn't seem to reflect my personality. i chose the present one because it's in green. it's my colour for the moment. God knows what it will be in a few months, or years down the road. women; unpredictable and constantly changing :P

So yes, what have i done with my life in the past six months? last year, i reviewed my life in terms of numbers --> the number of bylines, the number of books i've read, the number of months i had been with The Star, etc ...

Today, i decided not to measure the meaning of the past six months in numerical terms.

It's a bit hard to pinpoint the exact lessons i've learned during the period. in a quick glance, perhaps, i've not made much of my life. there are little drastic changes. i look the same, weigh the same (darn!) and still work at the same place.

But deep inside, i want to believe i have changed a little. i'm more confident of who i am and what i'm able to do or achieve. i'm more convinced of what i want to do with my life; the steps that will take me there. i was challenged in being more accepting of others; to be less critical and cynical, and more understanding and kind. still a long way to go in this area since it's much easier to make myself to feel good and others to be less.

What do i look forward to to the remaining of the year? i still have some unachieved aspirations but i'm heading there. also, i think by the end of the year, i would have loved my family members more. life is giving me lessons to learn, and like Andrew Mathews said in his book, "Follow your heart", life will keep hitting you until you have learned the lesson well. So i better learn it well before my head starts bleeding :p (ok, that's a lame cliche).

So Welcome H2'06! I look forward to the challenges ahead :)
