A breakup, a wedding & parenthood

"So who is getting a divorce?" so asked my friend. "None so far," i replied.

Yesterday i received three different news. in the morning, a friend told me that she broke up with her four-year boyfriend. her reason: "too much compromise in the past four years ..."

When i returned to the office and opened my mail box, i received an email from a friend, who announced his wedding in Sept and extended an invitation to us. Hm, it's only January, a bit too early to decide. who knows what will happen in eight months time?!?! anyway, it's about time they get married since they've been courting since uni days and that's like five years ago.

Later in the afternoon i received a sms from a friend in Penang. his wife had safely given birth to a baby girl, whom they called Faith. nice name. he sent us photos today and Faith looked like dad ;o) from the babies that i've seen so far, i've come to a conclusion that girls usually looked like their fathers. gawd, i better make sure i marry a decent looking man for the sake of my daughter ;)

So yes, that's the highlight of yesterday. so much news in just one day. makes you wonder what's happening in your own life. or at least i did.

Oh, and the office announced some promotions for this year. some rather unexpected ones. i realised the best way to deal with such news is to detach myself. don't be bothered if the promotions involved me, or if it was deserving to those who were promoted. just simply keep my eyes on my work, which is probably the only reason why i'm still working as one.
