A bit of everything

An ex-colleague came back for a visit today after about a year away. a bunch of us sat down together with her for lunch and we started chatting like as if she hadn't left. we were laughing and joking, and basically having a good time in each other's company. For that moment, i missed her.

In the daily complaints, chaos and conflicts, it's so easy sometimes to just forget abt having emotions and enjoying the company of others and to fall into competing and trying to beat everyone else in the rat race.

I've been busy. the bulk of my leisure time been taken by study group discussions and classes. by the time i finish a lesson, i am already too tired to want to see anyone else. i rather sit on my bed watching a DVD cos' the movie doesn't demand for more attention. today i was reminded of how fun it was to have good company and talking about nothing in particular :)

I finally had the final class for the year. school will be off til Jan - how wonderful! and the last class for the year was really good. i learned something as well as enjoyed myself - a bonus! also i met some like-minded people, who were really helpful :)

I still have an assignment due on Jan 2. I'm trying not to think of the work that awaits me. or perhaps, i can just relax for a few days before catching up on the work.

Will be spending Christmas in Singapore this year. will be my first time spending it elsewhere than in my own country but then again, Singapore is just a bus ride away. hope to do some self reflections and gather some thoughts as i close this year and begin the next 365 days.

A friend finally took the plunge to take the opportunity to travel and work elsewhere. was really proud of him when i heard the news cos' i know how much he wanted to leave and go on the adventure but was held back by many valid fears. now, he's decided to do it. what courage! another friend is leaving her employment for greener pastures. she is also another person that has been wanting change for a while so again, i was pleased that she's initiating the change.

Calvin & Hobbes quote: "I thrive on change. I thrive on making other people change."

If i don't get to post anything til 2008, here's wishing everyone a Blessed Christmas & Happy New Year!!
