Day 10

Covering the campaign has brought me to different parts of Kuala Lumpur that i didn't know before. while sometimes it can get frustrating because i had to get lost before finding the place, the driving around has been quite an adventure! i found out there are many parts of the city that are still village-like, where there are livestocks and farming, and people knowing almost everyone else. i also got to eat at some kopitiams, which served pretty good food.

The life of village-hood has its attractiveness. i like the smell of fresh air in the morning and the clatter of dishes as the kopitiam owner serves his customer and neighbours greeting each other good morning. i like hearing people knowing each other's names and even gossips that go around. the way how people come together to help someone in need and celebrate when there's a newborn or wedding party. these are some of the things that are so rare for someone living in the middle in the city.

I got to know my city slightly better in the last 10 days. when you look hard enough, there are always things to appreciate and give thanks for. hope we don't lose sight of the good amidst the gloom ...
