Amirsham's intw on BFM

I've always liked BFM's morning sessions because they usually get very interesting personalities as subject and the interviews are never dull. Although not always controversial, the occassional sparks that happened in the studio do add much flavour to the live show :)

This week, I accidentally stumbled upon the interview with NEAC's Amirsham on the recently announced NEM, of which the think-tank had contributed significantly in terms of recommendations to the Government. Amirsham, surprisingly, gave candid opinions on various issues raised by Noelle, especially when she persistently sought to understand the seemingly contradictions between the aim of NEM to fuel the involvement of private sector in driving the economy, and yet at the same time, assigned EPF as the key entity to develop the 3,000 acres land in Sg Buloh. While Amirsham could not provide the background or rationale, it did indicate, as he pointed out in the beginning of the interview, that the Government does not necessarily need to act on every recommendation that the NEAC had given. At the end of the day, there could be many bright ideas, but the discretionary falls on the powers to be to determine which, or if any, would be implemented at all.

Makes one thinks twice about all the promises, and wonders if the follow-ups would be equally promising ...
