Relationship is fragile

This week my thoughts were on relationships. i realise a lot of people were in relationships that they thought would meet their every need and that their partner was someone that would complete them. nothing wrong in that but the danger is that you might meet someone who fits better and then what? or your partner might meet someone tat fits him better and then what?

We busied our lives with people and activities that we forget to ask ourselves what are our needs? what are our hopes and dreams? what makes us tick? what makes us happy (not short term thrill but long term joy)

We make decisions based on other people's expectations or society norms. we walk down the aisle thinking this is it; happily ever after but we forget that relationships need hard work til the day we breathe our last.

We wake up one day and ask ourselves, why am i here? who is the man that is sleeping next to me? do i really know him? or worst we realise we haven't lived life for ourselves at all ...

We see an issue but we ignore it. we console ourselves, it's not my responsibility; i don't play a role. we wait til the situation becomes out of control and the blame game starts .. if we had just admit to ourselves, and others, we probably save a lot of heartache and pain.

One friend said it so well -- "it's easier to be in denial than to face the devil inside of us ..."

We think that truth hurts; but we forget that Jesus said: "The truth will set you free."
