Breaking fixed mindsets

One of my main weaknesses is to think out of the box. i find it difficult to think creatively and to have a sense of things. i work best when there is a set of rules and formulas, and if that leads to success, i'd take it.

Hence, the headache i have in my current subject - Exploring the Business Environment. not only does it tell me that there is no right or wrong answer, there is also no sure formula to doing it. yes, there is a process, but to determine the content of the process is a real challenge. i feel my brain has just been boggled inside out.

Still the mental stimulation is good. a bit of stretching is great and i look forward to being questioned, tested and checked on thinking. to allow my preconceptions to be tested and perceptions to be widened.

I just have to get the hang of not working within a set of rules or be told on what to do. i want to think deeper and questioned the rationale further so to expose the blind spots that i have.. have been conditioned by organisations to work within the parametres and not question if the company was heading the right direction. Been doing that for almost 3 years now. it's time for a change ...
