I count it a blessing that i live in this age of information, communication and technology. reason being, i have the luxury of accessing information at my finger tips at a relatively cheap price.
Today, i was doing my research on trying to understand the culture and people of Rwanda for my EBE project, and i stumbled upon a blog of an American serving in the country. here is a remarkable person that is telling me what it is like to be in Rwanda without me having to ask any question. how convenient has Internet made communication to be. while reading her entry, i felt moved because from my narrow perspective of the country, i saw a glimpse of reality of what she experienced. again, technology has made it possible.
In this sense, inter-connectivity is really before our eyes. whether we like it or not or whether we choose it or not.
Also, i realised that change is easier to initiate these days, if we want it to be. from her blog, i've come to appreciate my assignment a little bit more, and it is no longer just intellectual knowledge, it has become experiential as well. i was moved when i read her blog; and i gained an insight that most probably textbooks couldn't tell me.
Thank you lisa, u just made my day...
